Living amongst the beautiful Five Valleys of Stroud, I love my job as a Cotswolds wedding photographer: the Cotswolds offers such variety when it comes to wonderful wedding houses, hotels and locations. Whether you want a luxury, no expenses spared wedding or a simple intimate gathering in one of the Cotswolds many barn venues or boutique houses, there really is something for everyone’s taste and budget.
One of my personal favourites is Barnsley House near Cirencester which manages to combine the grandeur and customer experience of a large, luxury hotel with the intimacy and exclusivity of a country home. The gardens too are so delightful that Barnsley House makes for the perfect setting for winter and Summer weddings alike: I photographed there once on a frosty winter’s day and the place was quite magical.
You may also wish to consider Eynsham Hall just outside Oxford: a stunning Jacobean country house set amongst 3,000 acres of wild and beautiful parkland and one of Oxford’s premier wedding venues.
For the ultimate wedding experience (and little change from £10,000…), it can also be hired for exclusive use too. And to really make the choice an eclectic one, Westonbirt Arboretum is about as far away from a traditional wedding venue as you could expect to get. Getting married at Westonbirt really is like getting married in a Cotswold forest and with exclusive use of its wonderful Great Hall, provides an especially unique choice of location for your wedding ceremony as well as reception.
I particularly enjoy photographing weddings in the Cotswolds because many have such glorious outdoor space which compliments my style perfectly.
When you look at my gallery, you’ll see I love to use the natural landscape in my pictures because it contrasts so wonderfully with the white or ivory of a wedding dress. It really is worth taking the time to explore all that your wedding venue has to offer because the photographs you’ll get from being a little bit adventurous will almost certainly be worth it!
