Avon Gorge Hotel Bristol Wedding Photography: It’s not often you get asked by one of your children’s teachers to photograph a wedding, especially when it’s their own! In fact Fay asked me earlier in 2013 and we’d already got a delightful, nerve settling, pre-wedding shoot in the bag a few months later so I was really looking forward to seeing her and here fiancé, Tim again at Bristol’s Avon Gorge Hotel, just minutes from the historical Clifton suspension bridge.
The day started at Fay’s parents house and I was met with the usual flurry of bride, bridesmaids and mum getting ready so just as well the Prosecco was flowing! Before no time though, the bridesmaids were off and away, leaving just Fay and her dad who took a few moments to practice their “aisle walk” – a touching moment.
Before long, Fay and her dad’s earlier trial run was paying off with them both looked wonderfully relaxed and happy as they made their way to the front to join Tim for the wedding service. Following their delightful ceremony, the guests made their way down to the terrace for (windy!) shots on the terrace. Then it was off to the bridge for a few dramatic shots of Fay and Tim together before heading back for the wedding breakfast. Phew!
The guys had hired a lounge singer for the occasion who I must say was rather good and very funny, especially when he took hold of Fay’s mum for a quick foxtrot on the dance floor!
This was a lovely wedding and I was especially keen to a good job (as I always try to!) as you can imagine. I’ve included a few of my favourite shots from the day below so I hope you like them…
