Wedding photography Kingscote Barn: So it was straight back to the delightful Kingscote Barn for my first wedding of 2016 and my first couple, Tora and her French fiancé, Remy. I’d last shot here at Christmas and we seemed to have been blessed with the same wet and blustery day as we had then so I was more than prepared and made sure we had plenty of nice white umbrellas for when I’d gently nudge Tora and Remy out in to the elements later in the day. More of this to come…
My first pictures of Tora were the ones of her arriving at the Barn for the ceremony and although the weather was doing its worst, she was in great form with a brilliant smile that never left her throughout the whole day. As she headed off to the registrar, I made my way in to a packed and beautifully lit ceremony room to await the arrival of the bride.
One of the things I enjoy most is to watch other people’s reactions during the ceremony and here we had a rather gorgeous little bridesmaid who certainly wasn’t camera shy! Unfazed but unable to stifle the giggles, Tora and Remy battled through like true professionals to the delight of everyone in the room!
With the ceremony over and everyone gathered in the warm for canapés and champs, I gently suggested to Tora that maybe a trip outside with Remy would be fun (I’d played the rain and wind down a bit…). “Absolutely, yep, let’s go for it!” was her reply. My type of bride.
So off we went…with the two dads and groomsmen in tow, umbrellas a plenty for a very cold but fun 10 minutes using the fabulous Kingscote Barn landscape as our backdrop. I always tell people not to worry about the rain, it’s what you are prepared to do in it that matters. Tora and Remy were absolute stars, totally up for it and were rewarded with some truly memorable pictures which I’m sure they’ll love.
I’m always impressed with how beautifully Apinya and her Kingscote Barn team decorate the barn for their weddings, in the evenings especially when the lighting does look quite magical. The first dance quickly turned in to a packed dance floor and it was party time.
I’ve got a couple of weddings booked at the barn for the Summer which I’m of course really looking forward to. In the meantime, I’ll leave you with some of my favourite shots from Tora and Remy’s fabulous Cotswold winter wedding.
