Kingscote Barn wedding photography: It was so nice to finish 2015 on a high with Michelle and Steve’s wedding at my “local”, Kingscote Barn, just minutes away. Michelle was one of those trusting brides who booked me without us having met: in fact the first time we did actually get to see each other – given that Michelle and Steve live in Jersey – was as at a hastily arranged pre wedding shoot in Lower Slaughter just three days before!
I’ve been to Cirencester many times but not actually to the Kings Head Hotel where Michelle and her ladies were getting ready. Must say looks lovely after a full refurb in 2014 and perfect for our morning’s pics. My able assistant, Will, was also on hand ready to join everyone on a bus which would take them en masse to the ceremony later.
Michelle and Steve had gone for a winter wonderland meets Narnia themed wedding which I must say looked absolutely beautiful, especially within Kingscote Barn’s cosy, honey walled surroundings. It was a very cold day as you’d expect at this time of the year but thankfully this steely couple’s gung-ho attitude meant we all got to brave the elements for group shots later and, importantly, shots of just the two of them having some me time away from the crowd. I’m so glad we did because there was something eerily dramatic about the landscape that day giving many of the shots an almost Wuthering Heights feel to them. Not a bad thing.
So a great end to the year. Michelle and Steve were a delightful couple and couldn’t do enough for Will and I (including providing us both with a delicious roast dinner) to the point I had to keep reminding them in was their day and not ours! When we came to say our goodbyes, we found Michelle outside sitting near the fire pit wrapped up warm with her friends, laughing away with a rather splendid cigar in hand. A fun end to our day and I sensed the party was only just starting…
