Camden Town Hall Wedding – Jo and Mark
Following our pre wedding shoot on Primrose Hill a few weeks back, Jo and Mark’s Camden Town Hall wedding was the real deal and what a fantastic, fun packed wedding day it turned out to be…
First stop was the hairdresser’s in the morning and Jo was remarkably unflummoxed for a bride to be; so much so I began wondering if I’d got the right day. After an hour or so getting some fun shots of Jo pre and post curlers, it was back home to get ready before heading off to Camden Town Hall for the wedding service.
After a lovely ceremony, we made our way out to the famous white marble stairway for some pictures of the newly weds, friends and family. I’m probably not exaggerating when I say that this was quite a busy day at Camden Town Hall with about four different wedding parties all vying for pole position. But after putting my organisational skills firmly to the test, we did get some great pictures – just as well really because there was an open top double decker bus waiting patiently outside ready to take everyone on a trip around London. I knew this was going to be an enjoyable experience when I set eyes upon four crates of champagne being loaded on and did the maths…
The bus trip was a hoot. Apart from (me) nearly going over the sides a couple of times thanks to my ambitious technique and London’s delightful road surfaces, everyone was in great spirits. We stopped a couple of times for champagne and canapes as well as to cover Jo and Mark in confetti outside the Gherkin building. Such fun.
And then it was off to the Bull and Last in Highgate for the wedding reception. Apart from popping in a week beforehand to familiarise myself, I’d never been here before but I must say this was, or rather is a fine pub and a great choice of wedding venue. From experience, I’ve found that some pubs can be a bit hit and miss when it comes to weddings but this place had a great buzz to it with all the important bases covered. Jo and Mark very kindly included me as a dining guest (thank you, guys) which was rather fortuitous as the food was divine. That beef. That beef. And don’t even get me started on the crumble and custard…
As you’ve probably gathered, this really was a delightful wedding.
