Pembroke Lodge Wedding Photographer: Ben and Rach were guests at a fabulous wedding I shot at the Royal Holloway College (hi Joe and Lou…) last December so it was really nice to get a call from Ben to see if I could shoot his wedding coming up in August. First things first though and we had an engagement shoot to take care of and what better place than Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park. I shot my last wedding here a couple of years ago and visited many times and with its views and great coffee for a pre shoot chat, seemed perfect.
Ben and Rach, like a lot of couples, told me how they don’t have any nice pictures of them together (hard to believe when you see how natural they look below…) so I reassured them we’d sort that! We started with a few close up shots in and around Pembroke Lodge’s pretty gardens before heading out in to Richmond Park for some more dramatic pictures using the park’s wonderful landscape. My approach with engagement shoots is to treat them as an opportunity to find out a little more about a couple, get to know them so they feel comfortable with me and then just take some relaxed, fun, pressure free shots. I also think when couples see how good they look together it gives them real encouragement and confidence so come their wedding day, their pictures of themselves, especially, look great.
So here’s what we got. Ben and Rach looking great on camera and feeling really good about doing it all again in a couple of months time! Job done…
