As their wedding photographer, I was really looking forward to Paul and Nicola’s wedding in St Bartholomew the Great Church and to follow, their Haberdashers Hall wedding breakfast. St Bartholomew’s (of Four Weddings and a Funeral fame…) is a truly beautiful Church and a magical place to get married.
The day started in Limehouse Docks at home with Nicola and her family, bridesmaids and friends. Nicola was so relaxed and everyone was in such good spirits that it set the day up perfectly. After a couple of hours, I headed off to St Bartholomew the Great Church to catch guests arriving and to get some shots of Paul with his three best men. During the ceremony, I was kindly allowed to go up high in to the organ area and shoot down on to the wedding congregation below, including the church’s beautiful architecture in the pictures.
The wedding breakfast and reception was held across the way in Haberdashers Hall, an interesting venue with its interior a fusion of traditional and modern design. Following dinner, some very funny speeches (and one very suspect wig!) from the best men, the party started and I think I left when Paul was Pogo – ing to the Sex Pistols late in to the night.
A really lovely couple and a great wedding. Perfect…
