Pembroke Lodge Wedding Photography: ” Dear Ian, just a quick note to thank you again for all of your hard work and our absolutely stunning wedding pictures. You were so amazing on the day – rushing around to get all the shots while remaining calm throughout! We cannot wait to see our album and know that we will treasure the memories you captured forever. Thanks again and we will definitely be recommending you to friends. Best, Leila and James xxx”
I was really chuffed when I received these words in Leila and James’s thank you card shortly after they’d received their wedding pictures from me. We’d already had a pre wedding shoot in Richmond Park a couple of months before and I remember these two as being the type of relaxed, fun couple you just love to photograph so I was rather excited to be back again at Pembroke Lodge doing things “for real” this time.
We’d had a lovely ceremony earlier in the day a short trip away in Ashtead, but here we were now in Richmond Park’s jewel in the crown: Pembroke Lodge. Leila and James had jokingly told me earlier they’d paid extra for the sunshine and it was certainly well worth it. I shoot weddings regularly in the Cotwolds at some wonderful locations but the view from Pembroke Lodge, especially with the sun shimmering across the Thames below, is up there with the best of them.
I stayed until the dancing was in full swing and after checking that no further must have shots were required, off I slid in to the night. Although I moved away from London a few years back, Richmond Park was always one of my favourite places and coming back to share the day with Leila and James was a rare treat.
Here is a selection of pictures from the day…
