Gosfield Hall Wedding Photographer – Lucie and Grant

Earlier in the year, I teamed up with Stephanie Harvie Campbell, a BAFTA – nominated film maker who has spent over 15 years making high profile BBC documentaries including Airport, Lifeline and, fittingly, Wedding Stories – the popular BBC series following the trials and tribulations of couples on the bumpy road to the altar. But we wanted to offer a wedding video service with a difference. We wanted to make fully narrated films rather than videos to music so we introduced Directors Cut Wedding Films and, with the help of Perfect Wedding magazine, launched our great new concept with a competition.

So that’s the history and to bring things up to date I can tell you that Lucie and Grant, two charming and extremely grateful school teachers, were the lucky winners! This was great news for us too because their chosen wedding venue was Gosfield Hall, a beautiful Georgian mansion house set within the heart of rural Essex and winner of the Best Wedding Venue 2011 so we knew we were going to have an idyllic setting at least! Another key area that differentiates Directors Cut Wedding Films from much of its competition is that we intersperse our film footage with stills (taken by yours truly…) to really bring the wedding celebrations to life. And it works – Steph promises me the film is looking great and in a few weeks we will be able to present it to our eager bride and groom so watch this space.

If you are planning your own wedding and beginning to shortlist possible venues the Gosfield Hall should be up there with the best of them as it really is a truly stunning house with one of the most beautiful bridal suites you could wish for. It is also unique because you have complete run of this splendid place, including its pretty, landscaped gardens, so there is no sharing your wedding day with lots of anonymous hotel guests. And in Karen, the lady who was overseeing Gosfield Hall on the day we were there, I should mention you have a wonderfully amiable and helpful host too.
